Finally!!!

gagirlgagirl Member Posts: 5,408
Finally got back out this morning and got a doe. Nothing special about her but still my first deer with my bow.

Deer season ends here on the 15th. I swear that hogs are much more fun to hunt. The deer just are not moving down here this year. We have had a bumper crop of acorns and jump hunting seems to be the only way to go this year.

Anyway I will be happy when all the deer hunters are back out of the woods so I can go back to hog hunting. I know that some here wont understand that but down here our deer are small and it is just different then up north or in the mid west. I am just better located for hogs than for deer.

I hope all is well with everyone....see y'all later

Nadine

Ben... left you a couple msgs on that dog. The dog was the one on his 3rd strike not the owner. Sorry to say that it does not look good for him. He is still under the court system. I will let you know if he gets by. If you need me to I will pull him but I cant keep him at my house with his bite record so I dont know what I could do outside of a boarding facility. I cant take the chance with Kristen. You know how to reach me if you have any questions. I have pics of him if you want to see him.

Well, we actually had somebody going over to check him out, but I put the halts on it when I heard that he was not going to be savable.

We rescue alot of dogs all over the country. Fear biters can be dealt with, and most often cured, because you dispel insecurities in dogs. Aggresion biters are completely different, and their attitude cannot be cured ever.

Thanks for the heads up, and for the help you've offered.

If you think he's just really frightened, we can still send somebody that direction to check him out.

Congrats on your deer. Lets hear the story.

    Ben

    Way to go Nadine.
Heck even an old transplanted yankee like me would rather hog hunt than deer hunt.
Those deer dont make much bacon, but most of the hogs I've shot don't make much either [:D]

Congrats Nadine. Got any pics? I've had a great year so far. None with the bow though. I never even drew on one, but I did get 4 with the muzzleloader and one with the rifle. Still have tomorrow and all of next week and next weekend. [:D]

Nothing exciteing walked up on her while she was bedded down. This year has sucked for deer due to the over abundance of food and warm weather.
I thought it would be more fun hunting them with a bow but it was not really.
Hogs on the other hand are more interesting to hunt. To me at least. I am going back to concentrateing on hogs. More meat and more fun.
