Grafs and sons is an excellent source. www.grafs.com
Thier own brand is made in Germany and is of very high quality and very economically priced. They have free shipping, but you will have to pay a Haz-Mat fee, of about $20. All companies doing mail order have to charge this, but some charge more than what the shipping company is asking. Grafs also carries Goex and Swiss, but they are more expensive.
Powder Inc. is another good mail/internet supplier. Order a case and sell the rest to your freinds to off set the Haz-Mat fee.

suggest you make your own. Every thing is handy and legal. You only need 4 or 5 items. Sulpher,Salt pettre, and a good grade of charcoal.
A screen, a ball mill, andwater. A very high grade of powder can be made this way. Also any amount, when you need it.
There are some varents but learn what you are doing before trying these.

An increasingly popular powder used locally is APP (American Pioneer Powder) and distributors can be found through its web site http://www.americanpioneerpowder.com/products.html

    Good luck, shoot safely

Go to this site, http://www.goexpowder.com/, and it will give you the distributors. About one out of four FFL carries Black Powder; but you gotta ask for it (ain't carried on the shelf). It has to be kept in a seperate box.

    Hey Da Tank,

Your suggestion of making my own black powder intrigues me. Charcoal, Salt Petre and Sulfur, but in what proportions? Where is a good resource to learn how to do this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Sugar will substitute for charcoal. Ask Zerodin. At least the stuff he made was great to burn lines of gunpowder on the cement. Never tried it in a weapon.
