Can You use the new pyrodex revolver pellets in a brass frame 51 Navy?

    I was told that if you use the pyrodex pellets in a cap and ball revolver to be sure and not crush the pellet when you seat the bullet. They are designed to ignite from back to front and also the hole in the middle helps spread the flame of the cap going off.

    If you are asking if the pyrodex pellets are more powerful than a loose load of pyrodex powder, probably not. I'm not even sure you could get a bullet to seat down over a pyrodex pellet far enough to let the cylinder rotate.

    I used some when loading .44 WCF cartridges but I never used them in a cap and ball revolver.
