Bull, we need a bit more information like, what gr bullet and powder you intend to use. Is it for target shooting, CAS or hunting?

Presuming the pistol is a traditional flintlock or percussion sidelock and you'll be using patched round balls of .440 or .445 diameter, a good generic-type load would be 15 to 30 grains of FFFg black powder. The barrel of a modern-made muzzleloader will certainly be safe to shoot with a higher load, though most of the BP will not burn ib the barrel. If you use a black powder (shudder) substitute like Pyrodex, check for an equivalent load (most BP substitutes don't work too well in a flintlock, so I wouldn't consider a substitute unless my pistol was a percussion type).
