Using BP in modern Shotgun?

Just curious...if using BP shot-shells, is there any reason you can't use them in a (post Damascus or modern) SxS shotgun not specifically designated for BP as long as you clean it thoroughly?

Yes, you can use blackpowder ammo in any modern firearm. As you stated, it must be properly cleaned with blackpowder solvent or water to avoid corrosion.

i load 12ga BP loads on a mec 600,useing once fired plastic hulls, but only load them once. but i skip the powder dropping and us a lee dipper with the proper weight of BP and use the mec to insert the wad and shot and crimp. they work well in a older savage/stevens 5100 double barrel.according to garp

Black powder generates far, far less pressure than smokeless. So, any gun designed for smokeless will be safe to shoot with black powder.

No problem. Just remember to clean it properly and immediately.
