Colt barrel length

Rex MahanRex Mahan Member Posts: 529 ✭✭
Im looking at purchasing a USFA in either 45 or 44 with convertable cyls. I have two questions if some of you dont mind responding?
1) I like the 4 3/4 length barrel is the a reason to gwet the 5.5 over it?
2) How hard is 44 WCF to get vs 45 Auto.

Thanks

I am a fan of the 5.5 inch barrel, but that is just a personal preferance. I think the SAA looks perfectly balanced with that barrel length. A 5.5 might have a slight advantage in accuracy over 15 yards.
Certainly the 45 ACP is more common and cheaper than 44-40, but 44 WCF isn't hard to get, it just costs more money.
