Black Powder and Cowboy Action Shooting GIVEAWAY

bigoutsidebigoutside Member Posts: 19,443
I checked with my daughter.
She would be happy to take some saddle soap to the possibles bag and cut some rawhide off to make her next purse... unless one of my "internet friends" would rather have it.
And then she'd be ok with letting it go to one of them.
But if more than one of my "internet friends" wants it, she wants to do the "enney meeney" part.

( I interpret this to mean that she'd PREFER to have a giveaway than have Dad think she doesn't want this "gift". She's really a far better person than I am. Very sensitive to other peoples' feelings )

So here's how I'd like to proceed:
This is a small group of diehards here.
If you have a use for one of the items I'll list below, toss your name in the hat.
- if there is only one entry when I call "time" I'll send that item to the single entrant.
- if there are less than three entries on a single item, my daughter will get to do her "eeney meeney" bit. And we'll keep the give away here on the black powder and cowboy forum.
- if there is overwhelming response to a particular item, (which I doubt) we'll move the giveaway item over to General Discussion for a broader GAW.

Here is the pile:
[img][/img]imagejpg1_zps605ab6f0.jpg

1) a powder horn. appears to be authentic horn and brass nails to me. can't imagine anyone would counterfeit one of plastic. but it is reliably a product of the 1900's (that includes 1999). and the rawhide string that holds everything together is in desperate need of replacement.

2) a bullet starter. like the other brass items, it could use some polish and shine. i'm not going to expend the energy on something i'm paying postage on to giveaway. [;)]

3) i'm going to call the short brass thing a powder measure.

4) not to be confused with a powder primer.

5) and the assorted patches and other stuff will go with the possibles bag.

I could really use the possibles bag; mine of 30-plus years is on its last legs. And thank you for the chance.

Many years ago I built one of those black powder kit pistols and made a nice wall hanger plaque for it. I've always had the idea to make a possibles bag and a powder horn for it but never seem to have the time.
Your items would be a great compliment for it and I think my wife or my daughter would be able to find a nice purse for me to send to her for eenie meenieing me.

    Just sayin'.

The 9 year old has spoken!

She felt the fairest thing would be to handle it first come, first served. So Sky Soldier, you're out of luck on the possibles bag.[:I]

Sky Soldier, the powder horn is yours.

Mike Whiskey, the starter is yours.

Firstharmonic, I'll send you the possibles bag.

hillbille, you've probably figured out you're getting the primer.

Send me your shipping info by July 5th and I'll get everything sent early next week. If I don't hear from you by then, I'll toss it back into the givaway bucket and we'll have another go at it!!

Please include your username and the item you won in your email. Cause I am a bear of small mind, and easily confused.

    Thanks!!

If that "short brass thing" [:D].....powder measure is still available I'd be honored for a shot at it. Oops, I see this is a old post ???

    Ok. Everything's sent.

    Andersk.
I don't ship firearms stuff for a living.
So I decline to ship to canada that has been full of black powder. I have no ideas of the rules. I'm sorry. I hope you understand.

The possibles bag arrived today. Almost brand new but just enough "age" to it to give it some character. Thank you so much.
