This magazine came with a Buckmark I just bought used. I don't think it is the correct mag because it is a bit shorter than a new mag and the slide doesn't stay open after the last shot from the magazine. My research makes me think it might be from a Challenger, or possibly a Nomad. Any ideas what I have? Most replies are appreciated! Thanks.

    grdad45,

It could be off of an existing rifle or it could be a blank that is fitted to an oversize pistol grip area on a rifle stock. Brownells carries the blanks in a couple of styles. Here are some examples of fitted grip caps:

    Best.

Well, I couldn't find what it fit, so just listed it on GB. Maybe someone can use it.

Good morning grdad45: Well that metal grip cap appears to be off of a late Winchester Md 12 or 50,(used from about 1955-62) I don't know if the Md 70 rifle of the same era used one or not but maybe. they usually sell for $10-$30 depending on condition.

    Regards Dave
