Another question for you experienced fellows out there. I came across and opportunity to get a SW40 at a seemingly reasonable price and was wondering if any of you had good or bad things to say about it. Your opinions are appreciated! Thanks
I guess I should clarify. I agree with you that like the cartridge as I have a Glock 22 now. My question was if the Smith & Wesson SW40 pistol was a good or bad one based on your experiences with it. Thanks again!

Me, personally, I wouldn't own a .40 S&W handgun of ANY sort after having two guns shoot so poorly that I could THROW the bullet more accurately....

Why does everyone feel the need to burn that much powder?
I reload my own and shoot lead, basic reloads. There was one problem. The pistol needed the cartridges to have a factory crimp to cycle right. It means an additional step, but is not a big deal. I am going to get an MK 40 for the smaller carry size soon.
40 s&w is a fairly powerful bullet. It is designed to bridge the gap between 9mm and 45. Based on the numbers, I'd say I would be happier to trust a 40 against an attacker than a 9.
I guess everybody has their own experiences.
