I have a chance to get a Marlin XL7 in 30/06, how is the quality of these? How do they shoot? Accurate?

Haven't fired one yet, but I've handled several and have been impressed. From what I understand the trigger is actually more like the Glock than the Savage design. Stock fits me, they seem to be smooth and well made rifles. There is soon to be a short action version which will add .243, 7-08 and .308 chamberings to the initial .270/30-06 offering. Also other stock options coming with rumors that the walnut version may add $100 to $150.00 to the price. (Check out the responses to my thread looking for pictures of the new stocks.)
