Simson was a name used on German sporting arms both before and after the Second World War.

Besides quality photos of the Drilling including all markings and the broken stock. We would need to know the cartridge the rifle barrel is chambered for. Also gauge and chamber length of shotgun barrels. And the interior condition of the barrels. This would be the only realistic way, we could help you with a valuation.

Simson was a respected gun company in Suhl, Germany, which ended up under Communist control/East Germany after WW II. They continued in business making mopeds and at least some guns until 2002.

There ought to be another barrel in there somewhere, a drilling is a three barrelled gun, normally two shot and one rifle, although there are other arrangements.

Jager Verschluss refers to the Jager design of lockup for the action.

Another board reports sales from $700 to $3500 depending on condition and the availability of ammunition for the rifle barrel(s). A cracked stock is not a good sign.

It does look like a barrel below the other two. Looks small, maybe a .22 .

Sorry Hide buyer But the drilling you are looking at could run anywhere from $1000-$8000 + with no pictures and no caliber for rifle and Ga. for shot barrels as well as condition of bores . IT is NO valid way to give Value.

Just got back from the Gun Auction, it brought $3425.00
Next highest amount was $1700.00 for Winchester 94 25-35 Saddle Ring Carbine.

I would be willing to bet that was a case of Auction Fever, and they would not have gotten so much from knowledgeable shooters on GB or at a show or store.
