Imman Meffert

I inherited a Imman Meffert 12 gauge side by side drilling. The barrel was made by Krupp of Essen. I have found alot of information about the Krupp family, but I want to know more about Imman. The guns serial # is 53xxx and on the barrel it has a crown stamp with a U under it, and another with a W. There is also a number 13 and a 12 with a circle around it. Any information would be great.

You might want to post some photos of your gun; it may help us. For example, most drillings also have a rifle barrel. If unmarked or you got no information with the gun, a chamber cast would be a good idea so that you can determine the caliber.
Also, you may want to measure the shotgun chambers. If they are 2 1/2", you cannot fire today's standard 2 3/4" shells unless you have the chamber reamed.
