I keep seeing topics about AP ammo on here, is there a market for it? I have probably 400 rnds of 30-06.200 is loose and the rest is on a belt set up 4 AP 1 tracer on down the belt.Is this an auctionable item on here? thanks

While not really valuable, there certainly is a market for it. USGI AP .30-06 is worth at least as much as M2 ball, maybe a little more. It is almost as accurate as USGI NM ammo.

Tracer, on the other hand, could be a problem. It can't be fired safely, & selling it could only lead to problems. If it were mine, I'd take it to the dump. Most AP that you see for sale comes from delinked tracer as you described.

If you put it on the auction side, beware of the laws in some states resticting it such as the people republic of Illinois

    brier-49,

WHAT FEDERAL RESTRICTIONS ARE PLACED ON AP AMMO?

If you are NOT a (FFL) licensee under the Gun Control Act (an individual):

    It is:

    ok to OWN AP ammo
    ok to SELL AP ammo
    ok to BUY AP ammo
    ok to SHOOT AP ammo
NOT ok to MAKE AP ammo (18 USC sec. 922(a)(7))
NOT ok to IMPORT AP ammo (18 USC sec. 922(a)(7))

Some states also regulate or prohibit armor piercing ammo, and these
laws may bear no relation to how the federal law works. For state
laws, check locally. The following states regulate AP ammo,
to my knowledge, but the definition of AP ammo and sort of
regulation may (and likely does) deviate widely from the federal
approach. NV, OK, RI, VA, AL, NY, NJ, IL, IN, KS, LA, MN, FL, PA, TX, NC.

It is your responsibility to know the laws regarding which states allow AP ammunition.
