Is there any investment value for new, unfired or excellent pieces?

Mark makes some valid points, but here's a little history lesson. Colt made Peacemakers for a long time and discontinued them in the fifties. Great Western, a small company, starts producing them.

Colt has a change of heart (along with about a zillion others) and the ole six shooter starts selling again. Great Western goes belly up.

Today, the Great Western copies have a small but growing following. Any classic weapon or copy there of eventually will find a place in a collection.
