Hey tazzer, in reference to your post on the nylon 66 thread, don't rush right out and buy the rifle you are speaking of just yet. First a little info. There is a copycat nylon rifle out there. Here is the difference.
Remingtons all black nylon is as follows: blued receiver and bbl, black stock, black diamond, grip-cap says Nylon 66
CBC's Black Beauty is as follows: blued receiver and bbl, black stock, WHITE diamond, grip-cap says nothing.
JMHO, the former in good shape, i.e. not a rust bucket, is worth the 120.00. The latter in good shape, i.e. not a rust bucket is about 30-40 bucks overpriced.

Serial Number Notes:
Prior to the Gun Control Act of 1968 rifles were not required to have serial numbers on them. Remington started numbering Nylon rifles in late 1967 starting with #400000-419011. In 1968 the numbers ranged from 419012-473710. It should be noted that these 1967-68 serial numbers were located on the bottom of the barrel about 3" back from the muzzle.
In December of 1968 serial numbers were moved to the receiver cover and re-started at 2100000 and went to 2599999 in January of 1977. In February 1977 an "A" was added and the range was restarted at A2100000. These serial number series were for all Nylon rifles, not just Nylon 66s.
