Can someone tell me if older Marlin lever action rifles are of a higher quality than later ones.
I am aware of the JM stamped guns made prior to the takeover vs Remlins.
I may make an offer on a Marlin 30-30 made in 1957.
What I would like to find out is if there was a time when cost cuts lowered the quality such as what happened to Winchester 94s made after 1963.
