  The only R-B Stevens, that I'm aware of, are the "Crack Shots"/ "Little Scouts". They date to the early years of the 20th Century. And are rimfires. Maybe somebody bubbaed one, into a 25-20? Wonder how safe it would be?

  Would need photos to identify it. Lots of Stevens are mistakenly called rolling blocks.

  I believe the breech block on the early Stevens 44 action did "roll" more than the later 44 1/2 action "dropped." However, since Stevens was well known for installing their barrels on other manufacturer's frames, it could be a Stevens barrel on a Remington Rolling Block frame.

  ADDED: I just casually flipped through the chapter on Stevens rifles in James J. Grant's first book SINGLE SHOT RIFLES, and at least twice he refers to the 44 action as a rolling block.

  And before you get all enthused, the .25-20 Stevens Center fire, aka .25-20 Single Shot, is not interchangeable with .25-20 Winchester.

  Correct but brass and dies are available and it is a very accurate cartridge. Popular target round in the day and still used.

  The 2R Lovell was a lot nicer cartridge, made from the 22SS.
