First Gen BP colt all matching with the addition of a fake US contract stamp and the initials CFG on the bottom of the trigger guard. How much does this devalue the gun?

The auction doesn't have good pictures, I have been trying to pry information out of the seller all week. The US stamp wasn't even discernable from the pictures, I had to ask him and he replies "I bought it at a local auction, I think the US was stamped later to fake a contract gun."

I wouldn't buy that gun with your money. The restamped serials numbers should be more of a concern than the "US" on the frame.

I agree. Restamped serial numbers and fake inspector's stamp. Don't touch it.
