Parkerized Police Positive?

I recently purchased a Colt Police Positive Special in 32-20. It has a beautiful parkerize finish. Is this original or did the gunsmith do a really great job of refinishing? All lettering is deeply pressed and easily read. I never heard of such a thing, but then I know that there are exceptions and special order items were possible. Thanks in advance. Ed

Only early Colts, with a Parkerized finish, that were factory. That I'm familiar with. Are the Colt Commandos from W W II. They were based on the Official Police frame, not Police Positive.

I have a police positive and some other older Colt revolvers that have blued finishes but are duller than the later Colt revolvers. What you may be seeing is the dull finish that looks a bit like Parkerizing.
