Finally found a holster, an old Bauer Bros., that's a perfect fit for my '48 vintage Woodsman Sport. Only problem is that retainer strap is about 1" too long. Deep carving of former owners name under belt loop apparently removes this from any collector consideration so I have no qualms about shortening the strap. (on the hidden, i.e; not snap, end). A simple split rivet would do the job but even though hidden, I just don't like the looks of it on the back side.
Original rivet had a shank(?) diameter of 1/10".
Wondering if a brass, or even stainless, Arkansas Screw Post might be a good fix? Any advice on sources for such, or alternative fix?
Thanks,
Rob
