I did a search on the web and came up short.
There is a guy with a Hamilton Model 27 for sale, http://home.comcast.net/~jimringbauer/model27.html These guns started being built in 1906 so most have 14 7/8" barrels on them.
With a barrel under 16" do they have to be NFA registered to be legal or is there an exemption for them?

The Hamilton Model 27 as well as several other Hamilton models with short barrels, have been exempted from the National Firearms Act by the BATFE and do not require registration. Keep in mind that state laws may still consider them to be restricted weapons.
