I have a new Tristar O/U. Fired a couple boxes through it, now the top lever won't stay engaged to close barrels. I have to hold it over manually, can this be tightened or anything? Thanx

It would appear that something went wrong, perhaps the return spring has broken. A schematic of your model and proper fitting screwdrivers would be very helpful for a DIY repair.

Contact them or perhaps your local gunsmith.

So the not very good schemetic from the manual downloaded from the above website lists part # 62 as the top lever spring, as a good place to start. I suspect there could be other spring power for the bolt #51 - a better schematic or hands on would help a lot.

I believe that Charlie is on the right track. Is there any tension on the lever when you move it in either direction?

    mgbauer64,

Based on the fact that this is a new firearm, why would you not contact to the manufacturer's rep and get this resolved through them? It's new, send it back to the maker and let them resolve the problem. That's what warranties are for.

    Best.

Thanks for the feed back, I'm returning it. Very frustrated, thought it would make a nice grouse gun.
