Is a remington Rifle with R R stamped a 1968 gun or did i look at serial number look up wrong

    Hi I have a Remington 1100 i need to know the date of manufacture of it by the serial number! NOT the barrel date code. the barrel was replaced on it. the sn# is L635771V thanks

    Well R should be November and the second R could be 1924 or 1968 or 1997. Kind of have to know the era of your gun. Thats what my info says

    and how would i find that serial number 383968 i know the man that had it for close to 30 years or more pretty sure it aint 1924[:D]..its a woodmaster 742 in 280 i am guessing '68 prolly didnt make woodmasters in '97???

    Factory might tell ya sumpin with that serial # but usually go by bbl code only. Least thats what I have been told. Like I said Factory may have sumpin more specific. Looks to me like your year is right

    742's were made from 1960 to 1980 or so.
    It has to be a 1968.
