I'm looking at a really nice .357 and wonder about it's age. I realize that the model 65 is the stainless version of the model 13 and with no "N" prefix to the s/n (776XX) it must be pre-1969. Any thoughts guys?
Thanks,
Thanks,
It's too late for me, save yourself.

65-2 production started in 1977 and continued until the 65-3 was introduced in 1982.

According to SCSW. Production of the Model 65, started in 1976. All had alpha numeric prefixes. From "1D" to "21D". If the serial number you have given, has a "1D" prefix, it dates to 1980.

OK folks I now have the REAL s/n: 1D95107. Hope this helps and my apology of the earlier bad info.
Per SCSW, 1980.
Real strange? Model 65's with "2D" to "6D", serial number prefixes, were made between 1977 & 1979.
