I love these two quotes:

quote:California aims to reduce its emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, a cut of around 25 percent. The biggest sources of heat-trapping gases, such as power plants and cement makers, will be required to report their emissions

Okay, is California REALLY going to cut back on its electrical power USE? Nope. Just shove the problem into some other state.

Then there is this one:

quote:Although California is a pace-setter on the environment, it is also the world's 12th-largest producer of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and faces potentially serious concerns over its drinking water, coastline, agriculture and air quality because of the rise in temperatures.

Gee. I think they are missing the point. The logical thing for CA to do if they REALLY were world global conscious and not just self centered for their own good would be to REDUCE consumer emissions as that appears to be where their problem lies, not the power plants that make that "clean" electricity that CA so hungerly devours.

So much hot air so little real results.
