In the Dutch Country of Pennsylvania the Traditional Meal is Pork and Sauerkraut with Mashed Potatoes. Supposedly for Luck.

What is the Traditional Meal in You Neck of the Woods?
Or what are having Tommorrow?

Cowpeas! Blackeyes to those north of here. [:D]

    Wife still cooks 'em,
mother and grandparents would not have considered eating a meal without them on New Years day!

Breakfast on New Years Day .. lots of fresh fruit and a bowl of powdered sugar to dipit in, while we watch the Rose parade. For dinner corned beef and cabbage and potatoes...must be all that Irish blood...

The tradition is that if you eat poorly on New Years and you will eat well the rest of the year. Our traditional meal is blackeye peas, hog jowl and corn bread. The only thing is that these some of my favorite foods and I just checked with my wife and got authorization to pick some greens and turnips out of the garden for dinner tomorrow. That sounds like the 100% meal to me.

Just sharpened the Case Boning Knife.
Getting ready to cut up the Pork Shoulder for the Pork & Sauerkrout for New Years Day Dinner. I'll cook this in the Crock Pot after Braising the Pork and eat it for Lunch, Dinner and late tonight.
