Keep in mind im no gunsmith. But i have managed to assemble a somewhat "custom" 1911. This is an essex frame and slide that was fitted by a gunsmith several years ago before he passed away. I acquired it through his son in law who is also a gunsmith. All the internal parts are just drop in type parts out of brownells. I installed a 25 pound mainspring and have managed to get the trigger down to around 3 pounds. All it needs to be finished is a set of sights. Not the most "tricked out .45 in the world but im proud of it.

Looks nice, how much ya got invested in it?
about 350 dollars
I've think the plain old iron sights work out best on a good combat pistol.
I wonder how she'll shoot...
It isn't a Glock!

Good on ya!
Sights are a personal preference. You should get the ones you want. But what you've got there is still a nice-looking pistol, by anyone's standards.
Good on ya!
Personally I prefer the triple laser sights. Sure, the gun might weigh a ton when you outfit it like that, but triple the accuracy, triple the hit! [;)]
But... but... but...
It isn't a Glock!
Thankfully. [}:)][;)][:D][:D]
Let us know how it shoots.
