Suggestions for a good "pocket gun" for CCW

It that time of year again, summertime! I'm looking for suggestions on a good "pocket gun" for summer carry. Something that is small enough that I can conceal it a pocket, preferably in some type of pocket holster that goes right in the pocket. I don't have a specific caliber requirement or capacity requirement, I'm open to all suggestions. Small size and concealability are the most important aspects I am looking for.

Kel-Tec P3AT .380acp, 6+1 capacity, can get pocket clip or wallet shaped holster, extremely light-7 ounces, very small, can be found for around $250 new.

I vote for the Kel-Tec P3AT .380acp too. I have had one for about a year and I wouldnt trade it for any other pocket gun.

The Kel-Tec weighs about half what the 36 weighs, plus much smaller and less bulky.[8D]

I am the third vote for the Kel-Tec. I have both the 32 and the 380 versions. Had a Seecamp before and its heavier and usually sits in the gun safe. Carry the Kel-Tec 380 most of the time.

I works good in hot weather. Fits into the pocket of my shorts and nobody knows it there.

For the woods a whole different story. Big iron; 45 ACP usually.

Seriously, you've basically got two choices:

    1. Wheelgun, Smith 642
    2. Auto, Kel Tech PAT.

The former is more reliable, and shoots a more powerful round, but its has slightly less capacity, costs a bit more, and is more bulky.

The new Kel-Tec single stack 9mm is probably pretty good too, though its got to be larger than the 380 and a bit heavier, and I dont know if it is available yet for sale.

S&W 442 hammerless revolver or one of the small Beretta automatics.

    I carry a P-40 Keltec 40 S&W in a Uncle Mike's pocket holster all the time. I have a Kel-tec 32 in a similar holster if I wear jeans with tight pockets.

The gun is an S&W 60 with bobbed hammer. The holster is a homemade job, but similar to triple K. Good for year round.

I have a Colt Mustang that I really like, but they are getting harder to find and more expensive. If I had to replace it I would probably go with the Kel-Tec.

Nothing smaller than a 9mm in a semi auto and nothing smaller than a 38spl in a revolver. My 2 cents. [8D]

I teach nothing less than a 9MM Handgun, but besides my Beretta 9000S I carry a NAA .22LR in my pocket loaded with Rat shot. I can kill small rodents if I have to or I can shoot someones eyes out at close range if all else fails. Many LEO's are taking to this trend, the rat shot to the face will do the job if your attacker gains that much ground on you.

I neither Endorse or recommend this technique be used![;)]
