I imagine, given a reason, the cops will go wherever they need to be.

I work for Lowes. Normally, if you want to request time off, you have to fill out a request to use vacation time 30 days before the date you want off, and have that approved by a manager. This would be for medical appointments, emergencies, whatever...

On April 13th, I got an email from Lowes corporate that basically said if you want May 1st off to show your support for the protest, we could fill out a request form, and if it was approved by a manager, we could have the day off. It really p*ssed me off!

I am boycotting Home Depot, but not just because of the protest thing. I have a Menards right across the street from HD, and the prices at HD aren't even close. I spend more on a tyhpical weekend at Menards than I have total at HD in the five years or so it's been open. It could go out of business, or straight to *, and I'd never miss it.[}:)]

Where I used to live the Home Depot had a restraining order against the day labors (Illegal Mexicans), even being within 100 yards of there store (the one in El Cajon). Last time I was there it was still in effect.

I don't think it is a corporate thing, maybe a store manager thing.

I Emailed Home Depot that I would no longer buy my materials and tools from them because of the reports of their support of Illegal Immigrants.
Im wondering if they will respond, or if they care.

HD is doing nothing that Lowes isn't, not necc. in that order as Lowes takes its cues from the Depot. There first motivation for not delivering is that it is politically friendly, second and perhaps the more sensible reason is that there will probably be no need for deliveries while most of the job sites delivered to will be empty as those workers (both legal and illegal) will be protesting. Want to protest someone? Use your head and protest the source - contractors who hire illegals (and leagals) at wages unfair to everyone.

Funny- Home Depot is a HUGE GOP supporter, and paid for the Innauguration parties for W last time around. There's enough of a reason to boycott!

...pssst., they don't care. About 5 years ago a friend of mine worked at a place that stored, handled antiques in the designer district in Dallas, only mega RICH customers. The wife of, I gues the head guy over the Home Depots in the Dallas area was a customer. The Co. moved some antiques to a new "retreat" they built in Aspen,CO...They paid for part of the "retreat" with the bonus he had gotten that year,...$20 million..."bonus"...[:p][:0]

They are opening a Home Depot on Guam. LOL....They didn't do their research and find out it's the land of thieves.

They won't last 12 months here.
