    The only reason he stopped is because he thought he could get promoted if he saved someone related to the Chief. He just looking for a promotion. I'll bet he put in for a couple of injury days after he found out the Chief hated this particular relative.

    Wadding into the freezing water is worth an attaboy for sure. I wonder why he didn't use his weapon to shatter the glass? Extreme emergencies may require extreme measures.
