break-in the barrel on a NEW Sig pro 2022 ? If so, please give your recommendation on how to. I asked this on ATE but not getting replys, just reads. Thanks.

    Just shoot it. After a few hundred rounds it will be broken in.

    many opinions, few facts. do a search. it comes up all the time.

    some people will tell you you're crazy not to break it in. other will say its a waste of time, ammo, cleaning supplies and effort. the problem is there isnt a whole ton of impirical evidence to support either conclusion.

    bottom line, its your gun. do with it as you please.

    I don't do it on hand guns...I do break in the barrels on my rifles though.

    Your barrel will tell you. Watch the muzzle. If you start seeing copper in the rifling after a few shots, take the time to clean it.

    Contrary to much popular advice, Rifles need to be broke in.
