I got my Springfield SS 1911 yesterday and me and overdriver (who you now know since i got him to sign on in his own name) took it out to the range this morning.to sound official.......We went to the range on a cool winter morning the temperature was appx 45 degrees the winds out of the south at appx 5 mph.We shot 3 different types of ammo UMC,BLAZER, AND AMERICAN EAGLE,all in 230 grain ball....enough huh?we had 2 springfield mags and 2 wilson mags I ordered with the gun.only had 3 failures to feed and all of them were from the same springfield mag.I aint trying to start no war here but this pistol shot every bit as smooth as my buddies Kimber. It was tight and it looks every bit as good in my hand as it did on the auction.Needless to say I am pretty darn happy with itJust thought you would like a range report

Guy needed it out of his shed ( wife was going to make him junk it). He wanted my romainian psl. Wish i didnt have to trade him the psl for it. It was my only gun in 7.62x54r but i couldnt pass that up. Besides i'm hoping next year to pick up a new psl. Anyway this is a 75 cj5 , It has a weird tranmision in it. Reverse is were 1st gear should be but didnt take to long to figure out. It has been sitting for 10 years in his shed. The tires that were on it were shot so he through in the super swampers on it for free.

I got it home and drained the gas out of it, cleaned up the spark plugs ( auto parts store was closed already other wise i would have put new ones in) changed the oil and put new gas in it. It fired right up. Running alittle ruff put i'm sure with new plugs, wires and a good tune up this it going to be a awsome toy. Plus it has front and rear pto shafts on it. Here are some pics.

I went to the Mesquite Texas Gun show a few weeks ago and picked up a Taurus .357 Titanium 627 Tracker. I also bought the perfect solution for carrying it with me.

Here's the website where you can get info on the holster:

Nice. But is it legal to carry like that in your vehicle. Cause I like it.

city ordinance in wichita, ks would have you arrested for unconcealed carry.....supercedes state law???????????

I like that but what happens if your car is stolen
or broken into which is a real issue today,
but a good hide in the vehicle isn't a bad idea.

Probably varies some from state to state, depending on concealed carry laws. As far as Washington, with a concealed pistol license, I can't see why it would be a problem. One consideration, what do you plan to do with it when you park unless you carry it with you? Washington law does state that a gun left in a vehicle must be concealed?

I wish that was possible for me Texas_shooter
but my company would have me out on my ear.
Maybe when I retire, as it is now Mass would arrest me,

That sure would beat fumbling around under the seat for it. Here is how they did it back in the 1920s, just fasten it to the steering column.

If that thing goes off when you reach for it you'd
end up brain dead in a millisecond!

What's wrong with just stuffing it between your legs
    - barrel pointing towards the back seat ... just to be
safe ... making it impossible to put a round through
    your firewall/engine.

    Overall, though, pretty clever!

everyone is posting about your mount,I will about the new handgun, nice purchase,I like a Taurus wheel gun, many people talk bad about them but I have several from a model 94 .22 up to a Raging Bull in 454 Casull and I love them all.I think their quality is better than what S&W is putting out in the market right now and they for sure have a better warrenty.I bought a well used old model 94 .22 for my son,the timing was off and was shaving lead, they fixed it free and payed shipping both ways....

In Florida, as long as that holster is snapped, it's legal.

I'd hate to leave a pistol with a hair trigger in that holster, you blow your foot clean up.

If it's a revolver with the hammer down I don't see that it would be a problem, even with a hair trigger.

In Louisiana, the "vehicle is an extension of the home" rule applies...legal to carry w/o permit.

My understanding of your proposed scenario has the gun pointed at the driver's bellybutton or his, uh, well.... Might spare the engine, but...[:(][xx(]
