Hey lets hear some Horror stories
Back in the day I would just lay a bag down and crash
didn't matter where, if it was raining
under any picnic table would do
Then came the tents then the air mattress
now its a motor home[:D]

Like you, when we first started camping, it was sleeping bags and lawn chairs. Then we moved up to a pickup cover. We bought a little single axle Mobile Traveler and were on top of the world. We were still roughing it though, no light in the microwave and black and white TV.[:0] We traded up to a 24' Nomad and bought a color TV. We were still roughing it though, still no light in the microwave and we had to lean up in our Lazy Boy chair to change channels on the TV.
We bought this 31' Coachmen with central air and heat, stereo, full size refrigerator and a built in microwave WITH A LIGHT. We also added a new TV/VCR with a remote, so we don't have to lean up and change channels.[:D] I think we might be a little spoiled.[;)]

When I got out of the Marine Corps 37 years ago I vowed never to go camping again. I haven't.

The wife and I started with a tent, camping on state land, we had a ball!
Last year we bought a old class "c", this year I have only been able to use it once so far! we have reservations at a state park next weekend, (right next to the shotgun range[8D][;)])

Started about 12 years old "sleeping out" in Kirk's orchard in "downtown" Hoodsport, then progressed to camping with only a sleeping bag (no shelter) on the banks of the Skokomish river and fishing. That was probably the most enjoyable.

When I started riding motorcycles, we began carrying along a pack tent. My daughter and I camped at the Swinging Bridge park on the Satsop River, woke up floating in the tent after an all night rain, got up built a fire, dried out and rode home in the rain. Weyerhaeuser provided free site, firewood, and fireplace.

Our entire family traveled to the east coast and back in a VW bus, tent camping along the way in the 70's. We then progressed to a 29 ft. Alumalite fifth wheel. and Dodge Cummins pickup. When I retired, we decided to "full-time" and bought this rig. We lived in it for 2 years. Beautiful rig, but way too much money, and way too much work.

Haven't done any camping in 5 years. Maybe next time I retire.

I love to camp. Bring everything on my back, same stuff I had in the suck. Kids love it too. Wife loves to camp as long as there's cable, bathroom w/hot water, and A/C. Sometimes she even misses us!!!!!

When I moved to 10th and plumb I quit camping. I just walk out the back door now. Matter of fact I have people come out here to camp.

Horror stories? Well, the last time I went camping there was a gun and it was pointed at me and I got dragged out of the passenger door of a pickup truck and an aempt to humiliate me was made while the muzzle of a SIG was buried in my ribcage.
