Hey Racks, Earl gets it right sometimes, like he did today.
Marine Corps Brig
Parris Island, SC [:D]
Talk about the Brig. My platoon's billets were right next to the main grinder at Diego, and the brig was right across the grinder near where the exchange is today not far from the flagpole. At reveille everyday, the brig rats would be doing their morning PT at zero dark thirty, and this one DI would always threaten someone in the platoon that he would be sending them to "crossbar hotel" just as soon as he could arrange it. [:D] He really liked to duck walk us around the grinder when the fog was thick. Some things you never forget. [8D]

SSGT Simons was the Drill.
Of 200 in Company: 50 NG's; 50 ER's; 50 RA's. The rest US's, i.e., Draftees. ALL 50 Draftees got 11B MOS. After Basic, all NG's & ER's went home. RA's to AIT for whatever they signed-up for - NOT 11B.
Don't know where they all ended-up. As for me: RVN 11/69 to 11/70.
Some great guys; some I wouldn't turn my back on.

Seems quite a few of us have had the pleasure of visiting 'Lost in the Woods'.
Oh misery, oh misery, that's all the Army's given me.[:D]
Infantry may 'lead the way', but they sure were quick to call us 12B's up front, when they came to a mine field.
Two words...'cattle truck'.
