Republican vs. Democrat vs. Truth...

The conversation on another thread about..'Truth',versus 'Percieved Truth" is interesting...

When applied to the Two major parties in this country....My observations..are that the party OUT of power is more apt to ask the hard questions...and attempt to tell more real 'truth'..then the party IN power..

The drive to maintain power trumping ANY consideration of telling the "truth, the whole truth,so help me God.."

It is my belief that if it is perceived that those who perceive, beleive it to be true. There is no difference between perception and truth. When perception and truch come head to head then we have a debate and the winner tells us what the truth is and what the perception is. and a politician by any other name is still a politician. My 2 cents [8D]

Highball, Is there a difference between parties anymore?? Seems we have been sold out by both...I have always been a staunch Republican, but the lines are blurred so I can't tell the difference anymore....Molly without a party

This could easily be changed to "The drive to regain power...."
It is my "perception" (I guess) that the dems lie 100% of the time, at least in recent history, and the repubs are up to about 65-75%. So until a viable constitutional party candidate appears, I'll have to go with a repub for the office of pres.

If the people have become so apathetic that they will not vote out all the liberal scum (republican and democrat alike), the only solution is Constitutional Convention II the sequel. Let's get it right this time.

    Difference in parties ?

NAhhhhh..in spite of how the Bushbots cry doom and gloom if " XXXXXXX gets in..."
The facts remain that Socialists and Fascists BOTH have the same agenda..just different ways to get there.

NEITHER PARTY GIVES A DAMN ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION...

and both parties are selling America into third world status.Neither party worries about the Brown tide sweeping the Southwestern U.S..and coming to your community...

Yes,the Democrats embrace every sleezy perversion extant..
The Republicans provide for the care and coddling of the rich.

Both steal your money..in ever increasing increments..

I see the two parties as opponents in a WWF wrestling match. All BS,all the fighting is a ploy, all the blood...fake.The idiotic idiots in the audience lap it up and the wrestlers laugh all the way to the bank.[^]

I agree. Both parties are responsible for:

The raping of the American economy.
    Vehicles with poor fuel mileage.
    Ludicrous government contracts.
    Outsourcing the nation.
    Failing to stop illegal immigration.
Allowing immigrants to be in our armed forces and now get immediate citizenship at tax payer expense, just started this year.
    Destroying Medicare/Social Security
Supporting illegal immigration and the over 1 Billion dollar drug route from Mexico across the Arizona desert.

Allowing CEO's of Chevy, Ford, Chryslser, etc to move corporate headquarters overseas as they merge with foreign companies to avoid taxes.

I don't think we can bear the truth.

I do somewhat agree with this, especially as I consider myself very far to the right. It seems there are republicans that want to compromise with liberal issues, like gun laws, abortion, welfare / health-care, etc.

I think that a good number of candidates try too hard to make everybody happy, when in reality, if they set on hard view, and stuck with it, they would probably have a better chance. I bet if Bush would have a done deal on the election if he just said: "all gun laws are pointless, I will not sign the AW Ban, abortion is illegal, gay marriage is illegal, we are cutting back on welfare and government handouts (which will in turn allow us to cut back on taxes), and were going to downsize government, and get rid of the the stupid fees for stupid crap that doesn't do any damn good. Oh, and were not going to take any more crap from anybody, you mess with the US, we'll blow you out of the water. And also, with the money we save after we stop giving free money to the lazies, were going to pay our soldiers better, and help keep the USA the superior nation"

Sorry to disagree with ya' Highball, but I don't think either side can tell the truth or ask a legitimate question without putting their partisan spin on it no matter who is in power.

Dheff.,you hit the nail square on the head. But if you could kick them all out of office they'd be back in a New York second. You can change the baby's dipper all you want, but if you don't wash the baby, it will still stink.Drop thier pay to what a P.F.C makes and see who runs for office.Oh well I can at least dream. You all have a good nights sleep.

And this has come to pass, not to stay.
