I will Try to make this short and to the point.

I had shot a few hundred rounds in a number of guns today [:p].
I had 2 38s on the table. TAURUS CIA 850 AND A SW MOD 10 snub.
Taurus is a 5 shot and the SW is a 6. I loaded the smith just after I shot the Taurus, pointed the gun at the target and pop was all I heard,
(MY FINGER WAS FASTER THEN MY BRAIN) [:0][B)]
I pulled the trigger again................[B)]

CLICK no bang or pop just click, then my brain kicks in, crap check the barrel.[:0][:I]
yes there was a slug stuck and almost to the end of the barrel [:0].

For some reason I only put 5 rounds in the smith. This has never happen.
I load them full unless I only have a few left out of a box.

i do feel a greater power then i was watching over me,[^]

What are the odds [?].
5 rounds in a 6 shooter
empty chamber in the right place at the right time.
brain decided to start working again before the next pull.

say what you will,,,,, i posted my mistake[:(]

The employee at the range the other day was telling me about a lady that fired a "squib" round that became obstructed in her HI-POINT barrel! She then fired four more rounds on top of that with NO damage or injury- he also said Hi-Point replaced the barrel for free!

At the range by my house, they had a Ruger 7 1/2" barrel on display some years ago that had 10 or 12 .357 lead slugs stuck inside, and they had the barrel cut lengthwise to show the slugs! Barrel never bulged or exploded, something to say for Ruger.

Glad it worked that way for you! We all like to think that we are too conscientious to make a silly mistake while shooting, but it can happen to anyone if they shoot enough.

If there was an award for nicest looking post... youve one that too! with all the capitals, and bold print, colors and faces icons..oh my!

No seriously about the last line, I have respect for a man who is confident enough to admit when he makes a mistake. Its a rare breed anymore. People who will admit it, and even more so for ones who will take responsiblity for it when they do.

P.S. I'm glad things worked out for you. We need ya around.

Better check the Chevelle. May be missing a spark-plug.

I felt this needed to be told as it can probable happen to anyone anytime.

i still have not come to peace with myself for missing the first sign of a bad round .[B)]

i hope it's not a getting old thing.[:(]
