On December 16 Burger King is promoting its new fries by giving away $1 "value" portions for free.

    for national/international chain restaurants, wendys new fries are pretty tough to beat.

    for local chains, in and out by far. perhaps it has something to do with them being fresh cut by hand every day.....

    I was living in Virginia Beach when Burger King was giving free fries about 10 years ago. I didn't even know about it when I stopped there for lunch.

    I went inside and it was mobbed with about 100 minorities and their rugrats from the projects ordering ONLY the free fries and nothing else. The "gimme those free fries and nothin' else" greed factor was pathetic but typical. [:(!]

    The "trick" to really good fries is to "blanch" them in 300 degree oil for about 3 min.Drain and let cool completely.Then U fry them to order.Crispy outside and soft inside.[8D]

    I've recently done the 'new'fries from BK and they're GOOOOD.

    I did a double take in my ride on the way home w/dinner and asked myself, 'did someone screw up an order for supplies?!'

    Then the other day I see the story on my MSN homepage.

    Fresh cut steak fries that my honey bun makes at home,are the very best....crisp and soft in the middle...mmmmmm good!... I will never darken the doorway again at "Burger King"....[:D]

    I don't care for their current "new" fries at all, maybe the new new fries will be better, but I will probably never find out since I don't eat fries any more.

    Bintje-potatoes, freshly washed, cut - lightly oiled and salted - and then oven baked.

    Best fast food fries is McDonalds, At least to me.

    But a little place here in Oregon has the very best and I think they are baked.

    Went to the Triple H gun club in Linton, IN last month and ate at their restaurant. I had their sweet potato french fries, YUM, YUM!
