Surprisingly I am voting against it

The Ohio pot measure.

I see no reason to amend the state constitution to allow 10 private businesses the sole legal right to grow pot. Some of the owners of these 10 businesses are the who's who of elite, rich, entitled, insider scumbags.

I think pot should be legal but the way they are messing with the state constitution is not the way to do it.

I will vote for ballot measure 2 that prevents just such constitutional shenanigans from ever becoming law.

Pot legalization and taxation can be handled just like tobacco is. Turning pot smokers into criminals was and remains insultingly stupid to begin with.

Your argument seems valid to me. We could do what the Brits do ---- anyone can get pot from their local drug store pharmacy counter.

OTOH, our local police dept is now carrying Narcan to administer to those experiencing any kind of narcotic overdose. So, who better to sell pot? You should be able to go to your local police station & place your order. They always have security, & no one is going to rob them. The profit will help those local governments that are experiencing financial problems.

Does Ohio still have exclusive State Run Beer & Wine Stores?
It's been a long time since I have been to Ohio.
The POT is obviously a crony arraignment.

I agree it should be legal ( I live in OH) but to give exclusive rights to a small group is BS that will be the down fall of it .
sad part most are excite to get it legalized they will over look that small part of exclusive dealers .
it should be a farmers market setting the locals grow it and sell it [:D][:D] have a vendors licenses

I agree it is designed for the "chosen ones" to be the benefactors of untold amounts of money.

Today we were discussing the monopoly of the pot cultivation, one of the present owns something like 400 acres said he would like to use a few acres for growing marijuana in addition to his other cash crops to supplement his income if poor crops or drop in price of corn or soy beans--cant do it

Our beloved Governor Kasich would more than likely deny any benefit from passing the amendment. Makes one wonder who is helping with his election cost

On the list of people owning the rights is a Dr.Suresh Gupta from Cincinnati, he has been accused of being a pill mill and of sexual assault on patients. Just the kind of guy I don't want having the Constitution protect his monopoly.

Did you guys see that Marlboro is getting into the pot business in Colorado. They are going to sell Marlboro Green marijuana cigarettes at the pot stores. Goes for about $88 per pack.

I was wondering how they would regulate it but not a surprise since they did the same thing with the casinos a few years ago.... what does the law actually state? Any link? Have family their, be interesting if it passes. State could go either way knowing the demo graphics there.

Just read it, very stupid. Although I am curious about issue 2. Looks like it will be a fight in the courts if both pass...

taxing it will do as much good as it did taxing cigarettes, 4.50 a pack tax in IL and its for the children, but no one knows where the money really goes

lets tax more and cut social security

Colorado said that legalizing pot would deter crime..

How many "mass shootings" have happened in Colorado since pot became legal?? 3 or 4 shot down by a guy just this past weekend??

I don't smoke pot and never so much have tried it, but I am all for legalizing it. It does not bother me and I see it as no worse then booze. I have a lot of friends and acquaintances that smoke marijuana. Two are people you would never think that of[;)] I also agree with what others have said that there is not reason to destroy someones life over an arrest of pot. Some people pay a heavy price for it. Very sad. Have one friend that was arrested when he was 18 for one joint, and now cannot shoot or own a gun. He is a doctor and his whole family is into firearms. Really feel bad for him. Oakie
