I believe what we are seeing is a replacement for Medicare which is failing. You can research social security and medicare failing but the SS program is suppose to be shot by 2033. SSD by 2016, and medicare even sooner. Enter Obamacare.

If you are Gen X or younger and self employed opting out of social security would be something to look into.
