Had a hard time getting a good picture of the moon last night. Any settings thought on picking up a low light picture like this. I was using a 150-500mm lens.

About the only suggestion I could make would be to take a series of shots next time you get good seeing, and using aperture as primary, keep stopping down till the image is wonky. Long exposures will run you into smearing of the image as the things move. Just before that will yeild the most detailed shot your equipment can make.

Take a series of pictures, like 10 or even 20, and then "layer" them. Digital photography is imprecise, each image is slightly different due to the image sensor. Layering removes this imprecision. There's free layering software out there which is pretty good. The more pictures in the layer, the better the image.
The software automatically aligns each photo based on reference points in the subject.
