I told my daughter that there are mistakes that can, and will, effect the quality of the rest of your life. Think twice before acting once.

I always tell them to keep their mouth shut. I don't mean for them to be quiet or not say anything; I mean for them to listen carefully to what people around them are saying before they decide to speak.

I am of the opinion that for the most part we are better off not telling the majority of other people what is on our mind or our opinions.

What we say can and will be used against us![;)]

Then I go and post my thoughts on the Internet!![:0][B)]

Listen to talk ratio- about 2:1

If you are going to have a hard time explaining why you did it- it's a bad idea.

Start saving NOW- even if it is a small amount. Have explained compound interest to all of my grandkids.

Girls get just as horny as boys do. Just because you can does not mean it is a good idea.

Nothing good ever happens after midnight.

Take a good look at your girlfriend's mother....chances are that is what she'll look like, too. [;)]

I wish my Dad had passed on that bit of wisdom to me.

I always reminded my son that you can make a decision at any time that will affect your life forever.

I once got this advice from my uncle (may he RIP). I thought it was a bit of odd advice, but I can't count the number of times it has saved me from making a mistake.

Don't ever buy something because you think someone else might buy it first.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

My son starts his Masters program this fall.
The next two years for him will be pretty tight.
He has about every penny budgeted.
I told him that when he gets done and gets that first good money job, to keep the same budget and save all the rest for the first years.
Doing that, he'll be able to pay cash for his next vehicle or better yet, house.
    Praying he listens.

To my granddaughter, "Always be a lady, and make sure the boys treat you like one!"

(that will keep your granddad out of jail)

    1) There are two ways to learn: From other people's experiences or by your own experiences. One way is a lot less painful.

    2) Listen to your mother. Then do it.

    3) Stay out of debt.

Might be kind of expensive, unless you get it for $30 per acre.
