Polymer 80 Glocks aka "Ghost Guns"

Anyone here build one of these?

Seems the Glock patent on the Gen 3 has run out and now there are tons of companies selling slides, parts, and frames. The Polymer 80 is an 80 percent Gen 3 Glock frame that you drill a couple holes for pins, cut a couple tabs off, and dremel out the dust cover (recoil spring housing area). The frames have no serial numbers and ship directly to your door.

The liberals hate them:

I haven't built one yet but plan to build 3 of them. Have 2 complete kits and a slide for a 3rd one.
The above pictured P80 G26, I bought as complete kit for $449 from:
https://80pbuilder.com/custom-kits

There are kits available on gunbroker plus all the parts can be bought individually.
Complete spendy kit:

Parts:

Gunbroker actually has some decent prices on the frames:

Seems most of the big gun parts companies have these available - Midway, Brownelles, etc. Even Ebay lists all the parts.
Figure you can buy a used Glock 23 for around $300 - so there is no savings putting these kits together. But you can piece together a Glock over time.

For me it works out, as the 2 FFL's I previously used for transfers, are no longer in the gun business.

I also bought a Heavy Armor Division slide that is cut for a Vortex Venom red dot. This one will be a 2 tone with black slide and FDE frame. I have suppressor height black sights and a $50 threaded G19 barrel I bought from Combat Armory for it:

Who's that one Glock aftermarket parts company that bought out Mega Arms that's making their super expensive "Glock"? ZEV. Brain fart. They made everything but the frame and now makes a whole tricked out gun for a mint. Or what one would've spent using ZEV parts to mod out a Glock :D.

ZEV - I don't know the story behind them other than they charge a premium for everything.

Buying FTF, also does a pretty good job on a "Ghost gun."

There is a core group, trading, selling buying - in order to do just that. (Obfuscate the trail.) A "No Paper Gun," will quite often bring a premium.

Not that I would know anything about that.

I have thought about it even one of the gun shows on Wednesday Night devoted a segment to a company and how easy it s to build one of the kits the company had complete or partial kits . funny the show Jim S. could not show on Tv doing it but could explain how and tell how easy it was

just me but for the money and the fact I still can just buy one made at the factory I see no big savings just the fact it has no serial number
but for now I could buy one ( new or used ) just say it was sold to get the same effect
when the big hammer falls( by the left at one point in the future ) I will bet any gun made at home with out a number or some how tracked
will have xx days to be numbered and logged in / registered of forever be declared a felony to own . thats a given
I have build several AR rifles but now even a factory name built AR can be had for a 1/3 of what they were just a few years ago
who would have guessed a AK , sks or ruger mini 14 to name a few would sell for more than a AR -15

Ive built a handful of them. Really for fun but once you build one, you?ll want another.

I agree- its not something you do to save money.
    Here?s my 1st poly 80.

It?s basically 1911 ergos with Glock internals- this one took me a while to get right but I have even shot it at the local USPSA match.

    Looks good Warbirds.

I meant to only get frame for my 22LR Advantage Arms Glock 19 conversion. That didn't last long though.
