went to my private shooting range over the weekend and couldnt believe my eyes. someone had torn down the shooting bench and burned it. they also burned several post that we had stored to build a new one off to the side of the present one. about half way to the 25 yrd. target there was a pile of pellets that makes me believe it was kids. this is on a piece of private posted property. also someone had torn down a retaining wall and brought a truckload of timbers old bushes and lava rock and dumped it on the lawn. they also got stuck and made some pretty deep ruts. people just dont seem to have any respect for private property any more. what do i do to keep them out??? this isnt my property,i just have permission to use it if i will keep it cleaned up. thats pretty hard to do when things like this happen. i notified the owners and they are ratter angry, but thank goodness they dont blame me or my son. carl

There are some on this earth that need not be here!!
I quess the land owner will have to deal with them- if you get involved, get permission from the owner to do so as then you can protect the property.

2 railroad ties, some concrete, 2 eye bolts and a logging chain. Connect it all up and lock the chain to one of the eye bolts. They hit that joker and it will be easy to recognize their vehicle for future reference.

    WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!

Will, I understand the feeling, but that kind of advice, could, if followed, have tragic results for someone besides the little dirtbags responsible for the mess. Carl, if anything is built, be sure it is visible from 100 meters on a dark night. Otherwise, some s***head will surely plow into it on their way to build another campfire and then they - or their survivors - will start throwing lawsuits around. I've seen it happen too damn many times when a land owner, tired of similar acts of vandalism, strings a chain, cable, or whatever across some access point. Jerk gets hurt (or suffers "emotional distress") and the landowner is taken to the cleaners . . . doesn't even have to be in Kalifornia.

Do you have any idea who might have an ax to grind with you shooting there? Are there any close neighbors who might not want shooting going on close to them? Anyone close by ever complained about the shooting?

Okay then, add some freakin' reflective tape. Personally, I wouldn't and I would say it has been there for a long time. Screw 'em!

One other thing: If I were the land owner, I would drop by the sheriff's office and file a complaint telling him I will press charges if anyone can be apprehended. If these jerks are ever caught on the land again, it would be good to have the complaint "on record."
