That happened to me one time. My wife said that if I fall alseep while she is talking, it will happen again!

No 10-22's Joe.......

My oldest 22 is my grandfather's Win Model 61.......with the octagonal barrel, that my uncle Jerry Don called "the hex barrel 22". Then there's my sons favorite.......a Win M63.

The M61......

We would hang them skinned for week. If too warm we would fill the deers cavity from being gutted, with bags of block ice and wrap in a old bed sheet. Worked great every time.

Edit to add; We always skinned them as soon as we got them hung. Found they skin much easier, fresh killed than waiting. Secondly I want to get that hide off that may have ticks or other bugs as soon as possible.

Yep. When I had my house built I made sure the sliding glass doors faced the field. I haven't actually hunted from my deck, but I can stand in my kitchen and watch the wildlife crossing the fields. I enjoy that almost as much as hunting.

Saw @Toolman286 post on "porch hunting" about 5 mins later I looked out my office window in to the side yard (porches on front and back) and this guy was still on the ground and just waking up this morning about 7:40 am Central time North Texas. By the time I got phone against the dirty window and screen he heard me touch it and this was him just standing up. Got a couple more pics but this is the best one so enjoy he's a young one for sure and of course some dogs are bigger than Texas deer.😁
