been an odd couple days.......

try not to get into to long a rant, but friday went to VA for a routine eye exam, eye DR. said my optic nerves were swelled, sent me for MRI, MRI machine broken at local VA so they admitted me to ER so I could go across the street to private hospital for the MRI, only thing was VA said no, I had to go to Pittsburg for MRI and to see neurologist. Long story short got the hour and half ambulance ride to pittsburg, had MRI, probubly about dozen or more blood tests for all sort of oddball diseases from Lyme to menengytis? and lot of others I never heard about. then had spinal tap to check pressure and to get the spinal fluid tested for virus/disease. I called my wife from VA just before they sent me to Pittsburg to tell her what they were doing and that it wasn't any big deal as it was just because the local VA, still hour and half from me, didn't have MRI machine. well she thought I was hiding something from her because I wasn't real sure what was going on.
well she drove the 3 hours plus yesterday up to Pittsburg VA to see me and get whole story as I don't have cell phone and room phone wouldn't do long distance, did have a nice ICU nurse who called wife twice with updates on her phone. After seeing an eye specialist this morning they released me this afternoon and just got back home few hours ago, still waiting on a few of the oddball tests to come back but to the best of their analisys all tests were negative and I just have enlarged optic nerves as they can find no reason for them to be swollen. last few days have been odd to say least, hurry up and wait for tests, then more tests, then wait and DR's not really wanting to tell me what they were looking for, ( brain tumor) still few tests out for various auto immune diseases, they said it may be week or so before I get results back. all because I have a little foggy/blurry vision in right eye, left is slightly but not as bad as right, I figured it was a film build up on my replacement lenses from cataract surgery few years ago and they would just laser it off in eye clinic friday.
between this and early election results its kinda hard to sleep, even though I'm dead tired from worry last few days, can't sleep in the hospital more than couple hours at time as they continually wake me for bloodwork and vital signs every 4 hours, sorry for rant just had to vent a little........ guess still not 100% as posted this in politics instead of general, oops
