Man is that car annoying with all those nanny features. If you don't use the indicators the silly thing starts chiming when you make a lane change. Same thing if you drive over to the shoulder to make a turn. Glad I got dumb rides with ABS and air bags.

yep
How did you fit in it? I thought you were a sizeable fellow.
Son and his wife have one each, refurbished by a friend, cheap,
and very cheap to operate.
Sounds like the "Lane Departure Alert" was turned on. I have that in my 2020 Highlander, but have it set to Off.
The most amazing thing is the Radar Cruise Control. It adjusts if the car ahead of you is going slower, but the magic thing is that the instant you hit the turn indicator to pass, it automatically speeds up all by itself.
I hate all that stuff. I get furious every time our car “yells” at me for the seatbelt if I don’t put it in quick enough. As I see it….this is America, and I should have the right to endanger myself in peace if I choose to. Hahaha! 😁
My wife has a Lexus with all that crap on it, I hate it. I told her that she will eventually forget how to drive because there are no decisions left for her to make while driving.
And forget cruise control on the interstate, the car brakes if it gets anywhere near another vehicle, the more cars the more it brakes until it feels like you're backing up. I guess it's a woman thing because men actually like to drive cars themselves.
You shouldn't be using cruise control in traffic to begin with. If this happens on the interstate, you waited too long to change lanes.

you must not drive that much on the freeway any more because most people now days want to take your front bumper off when they come back over ,doesn't seem to matter that they have wide open freeway in front of them, they're coming over as soon as they get past you
Not in Utah. Here, EVERYbody drives exclusively in the left lane!
But seriously, I hear you on that. And most of them do it 100 yards before they take an exit. Do they ever consider slowing down a bit and staying in the right lane to exit? No. Gotta zoom past you and then careen wildly across several lanes.
I see it and have it happen to me every day I'm at work
I bought a new Toyota RAV4 last year, it has all the amenities on it, lane centering, collision avoidance and so on. But the biggest problem I see with these new cars is, they also come with a lot more distractions, it’s a car for god sacks, not and airplane. When using cruise control I adjust the collision avoidance down to low setting. Now I can see where it would be handy if you were to get into some heavy fog, but I wouldn’t trust it. If you get ice or snow, or even in heavy rain on the shield over the radar housing it can fail.
What I wish they would install on cars, and this going to sound silly. I wish they would install a bell on cars same as a horn. Anytime I’m in a work zone I turn my bright lights on to be more visible to workers I even use the bright lights when passing a disabled vehicles. If I had a bell I would turn it on as a warning. Maybe I worked too long on the railroad. lol.
my new job has quite a commute. 36 miles each way. As soon as I clear the stop light before the highway I turn on my adaptive cruise and relax.
I do have it set not to automatically overtake other vehicles but to stay with the flow of traffic.
It is super smooth and I actually really like it.
Car is an electric Audi and I never used this feature in Orlando because my commute was only about 15 minutes in moderate traffic.
It doesn’t work in bad weather but I don’t think I would use it in poor conditions.
at least there's still a woman telling me how to drive when I'm by myself in the car.
It should be about ready for that 4 to 5K replacement battery !!!!!
