I don't know what the reason is for the two tone slide, but the only 1911's I've seen it on, were Argy Navy models, and they did have a high gloss blue.
The fact that either one respects me or solicits my opinion on occasion or tolerate my contributions is a badge of honor

I'm not an expert- hell, I'm not even a talented amateur- but everything that would tell me it is a refinish is NOT there. That is one fantastic gun.
I have held parkerized ones that had a different tone in the exact same spot.
