Take a look at this clip:

I am interested in the shoulder holster General Patton is using to carry his 1903 Colt .32 pistol.

Is the holster made for a small frame gun, or is he using a 1911 holster for the .32?

Also, this holster has a strap that runs from the back of the holster, across to the opposite shoulder, and around to the front of the holster. I have a GI style 1911 holster and the straps that support the holster go over the left shoulder, and there is a stabilizing strap that runs around the midsection. Makes the holster less than concealable, but it's comfortable.

Main question: Is there a GI shoulder holster for a smaller frame gun?

I like the style, and I want to carry my Walther PP in it while mowing, fishing, etc. I tried the Walther in my 1911 holster and the fit is very loose.

So, is there such a holster? Or did George just jam his old .32 into a holster made for a .45?

The Atchison Leather Products in Atchison, Kansas had a government contract to produce holsters for the Colt 1903 (and 1908) pistols for use by the OSS and general officers, with shoulder holsters for the OSS. Tanned or black leather were the color choices, with the OSS opting for black. These holsters are hard to find and are quite collectable. Patton usually carried his 1903 in his waistband, but since he was a wealthy man, on occasions where he used a shoulder holster I would not be at all surprised if his personal rig was custom made. Patton was the quintessential gun nut and period photos show that he also carried a Colt 1908 Hammerless and a Remington Model 51.

Patton had some things custom made for what he wanted like his stars they was not silver like other Generals,he had them made out of white gold.I dont think they (Military) ever issued a shoulder holster with a 1903 colt at least to General officers.

I found another clip showing another general wearing a standard 1911 shoulder holster with his 1903 Colt in it. It's pretty obvious that the holster is way too large.

I'll keep looking. Thanks for all the good information.
