Looking to buy a SIG PRO,.40 cal....the mdl. 2340 has an optional drop in conv. barrel to change to .357 sig.40 to start with. Nunn, or anybody else...Nunn paticularly since your a Sig pistol armorer. How do you like them(Sig Pro)??...right out of the box?? (w/Tritium added)Read a little about the extractor not being grooved quite deep enough to "grab" empty case(change), spring that holds slide release pin (change).True or False? Feel good for everyday carry? Keep in mind I already carry a P-90 or 1911A1..so the Pro already beats those in weight and size. I like the internal and slide Nitron coating,accuracy,SA/DA.super fit/tolerances. I prefer the DA/SA.vs. DAO(can be changed out to DAO,as assembly is modular),The gun just feels really well made, and looks it too...just not ever shot one...so the questions. Am going by friends that I do biz with, (& web info) they ALL like this gun (never steared me wrong before). I just dont want to end up with maybe $700 bucks or so (Tritium,"tweaking" to where I WOULD trust my life to it,holster, etc.) in a handgun I dont love and trust...looks good, feels better, but is it as good as the SIG "clasics"?,(all steel) in context of reliability, accuracy and overall quality. Your thoughts on this gun would be appreciated...thanks again guys..in advance of the "high quality" info I am sure to get from ya'll..
"ANY" EXCUSE IS A GOOD REASON TO BUY "JUST 1 MORE".& VICIE-VERSIE!

At my PD we have about 50 SIGs in service. Four of them are 2340s.The 2340 is a good pistol, but I like the 226 and 229 better. Why?I am an armorer. I fix things. The 2340 has ONE armorer-serviceable part in it, and that is the fire-control unit. If it breaks, you take out the old one and drop in a new one.Every other problem in the troubleshooting guide requires that the frame, the slide, or the entire gun be returned to the factory for service. From a consumer standpoint, that is not a bad thing, but I like being able to tweak it or replace a pin or a spring and put it back to work now.In my opinion, the 2340 has more felt recoil than the Classic guns, but that is a subjective judgement. The 2340 is a good gun and will probably give you two or more lifetimes of service.
