My wife and I currently have a savage model 10 12 gauge pump.... Its all sooped up like your basic combat shotgun....This gun works great for me but..... I am also 6ft tall. My wife loves shotguns. she can handle the recoil on even the fullest loads. slugs included. (power trip) anyways the stock on our gun is too long for her arms being she is only 5'2". My question is do any of you know of a decently priced shotgun that comes with a shorter stock?

You might try a mossburg 500 and have the stock trimmed to fit.

    jastr,
If you really like that one, or one similar, take it to a gunsmith and get the stock cut down to her size. It is not very expensive and only takes an hour, when they have the time.

The only answer too this problem is another gun because it has a synthetic stock, and if we changed the stock on it It would become uncomfortable for myself, and any other male relative or friend or whatever. we might explore new gun possibilities with custom stock too fit!

You could always purchase a similar gun with a youth stock on it. Or find one used and purchase the youth stock set from someone else.

I would suggest that you purchase a youth model. My son has a 20 ga. 870 youth model which works very well for him. He is 11 years old, 5'3" and 115 pounds. I believe I paid 225.00 for the gun a couple years ago. Good luck...

Don't tell her it's a youth model though! It'll make her feel really short and you'll be sleeping on the couch.

Speedfeed makes a synthetic replacement stock with a 13" length of pull.

Outers makes a "Cadet" synthetic stock with a 12.5" length of pull.

Both are available from your sporting goods retailer or from Brownell's.

I use the Outers stock on dept-owned Remington 870s for the little girls.
